NEW PUBLIX EXHIBIT TO OPEN AT GOLISANO CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF NAPLES
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NAPLES, FL (November 12, 2024)- Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples (CMON) announces the collaboration with Publix Super Markets Charities to create a brand-new supermarket exhibit at CMON. While a few critical renovations have already been completed, this complete renovation of one of CMON's classic and well-loved exhibit spaces, The Market, will take place later this year. The new Publix exhibit will provide a reimagined shopping experience built just for the museum's little shoppers. Guests will be able to experience a play-based shopping experience, including Publix bakery, deli, seafood, produce, dairy, and frozen sections. Littles will love filling up their shopping carts from their grocery list, working at checkout just like a real cashier, and even creating their own Publix Subs, sushi rolls, and pizza! This hands-on exhibit provides children and their caregivers with a unique and engaging experience that encourages imaginative play and life-skill building in an environment many families experience together each week - the grocery store!
“The market at CMON has always been one of our most popular exhibits. So, it makes sense for our museum to collaborate with the most popular supermarket brand in Florida, and beyond—Publix,” said CMON CEO, Jonathan Foerster. “We are so grateful for Publix Super Markets Charities and the team of amazing professionals who jumped in to make building this new exhibit a pleasure. From checking off their grocery list to building their own Publix subs, CMON's little shoppers are going to have an amazing time and learn a lot about food and nutrition along the way.”
The Publix Super Market exhibit at CMON will open to the public later this winter and will be included with museum admission once renovations are complete.
About the Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples
The Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples is a brain-building powerhouse and Southwest Florida’s first museum devoted for children and families to learn through play. With hands-on exhibit galleries, the accessible museum invites visitors of all ages to journey through the swamps of the Everglades, weave through a maze, climb a two-story banyan tree, or experiment with the water play station. Children can become a weather forecaster, a farmer, a chef, a fisherman, an artist, an architect, or a veterinarian; explore the cold of an igloo, the whoosh of the wind, the sound of the sea, and the effects of gravity. Throughout the day special activities encourage our guests to get involved, try something new and be energized. CMON offers a variety of interactive exhibits providing kids with education, play, learning, science, technology, engineering, inventions, space exploration, art, math, storybooks, creation, building, sensory, and child development.
