Horizon, an Immersive Art Installation at Mercato
This winter, an immersive outdoor art installation makes its debut at lifestyle center Mercato in Naples, Florida, just in time for the holiday season. The experience, known as Horizon, is a tranquil light and sound exhibit designed to heighten the imagination and free the mind.
Horizon features a collection of five cocoon-shaped structures, each equipped with an artfully curved wooden bench that, when rocked, triggers a synchronized light and sound display on the egg-shaped dome overhead. Drawing influence from nature, three unique sky-themed visuals (starry vault, flock of birds, and calming canopy) dance and pulse to life, accompanied by relaxing music meant to generate feelings of comfort and serenity for the user. Horizon was created by Olivier Landreville in collaboration with Serge Maheu, produced by Init, and tour-produced by Creos, a Quebec-based production company specializing in world-class interactive installations that transform public spaces.
Installation of the interactive pods at Mercato begins November 18 on the event lawn across from Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. The artful display will officially be illuminated for the public to enjoy November 22 through February 9.
This unique, first-to-state experience comes as part of Mercato's ongoing refresh efforts, aimed at strengthening community connections and elevating the property's relevance through modern placemaking trends.
