Back for its second performance of the 2023-24 season, Miami City Ballet (MCB) once again lights up Hayes Hall with its exceptional talent. MCB first tackles Agon, choreographed and composed by Balanchine and Stravinsky, respectively, as well as Following the Subtle Current Upstream choreographed by Alonzo King. In its commitment to looking towards the future of ballet, MCB concludes the evening’s performance with a newly commissioned work by Brazilian choreographer Ricardo Amarante. Amarante specializes in emotionally charged classical and neo-classic ballet choreography. The performance will undoubtedly be a testament to the beauty and power of ballet. All Miami City Ballet performances include a Dance Prelude at 7 pm.
