Pioneer Clothing Workshop at the Immokalee Pioneer Museum
Join us for an engaging workshop that analyzes the history of pioneer clothing and how it compares to what we wear today. From practical reasons to the materials used to the designs that helped them survive in harsh conditions. Through hands-on texture comparisons, experiments and discussions, we will dive into the historical context of their attire, how it was influenced by the environment, work needs, and cultural norms, and explore how these choices shaped the lives of pioneers! In collaboration with UF/IFAS 4-H Outreach Coordinator, Janine Heiney.
