Science Nite at Rookery Bay
Join Rookery Bay Research Reserve for an exciting Science Nite focused on the rich archaeological history of Southwest Florida. The evening will feature a panel discussion with experts on the importance of preserving historical sites and cultural material, offering insights into how the past shapes our future.
Designed for students interested in archaeology, history or museum careers, teachers and community members passionate about local history, "Science Nite – Archaeology" is presented in partnership with the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN). It is also part of the "Calusa Coast" series of events. Panelists will include professional archaeologists, historians and conservationists from the Seminole Tribal Historic Preservation Office, Lynn University, Mound House - Town of Fort Myers Beach and the Marco Island Historical Society.

Both a social and educational experience, Science Nite will serve up interesting information for all ages, a historical scavenger hunt to win prizes, food and drink as well as time for mingling with fellow participants amongst interactive displays, aquaria and an art exhibit in the Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center. Mound House, Edison & Ford Winter Estates and Trail of Florida's Indian Heritage provided generous prize donations for Science Nite to support public archaeology and education.
