Along the Paradise Coast Blueway, you can expect to be amazed by the beauty of birds, mammals, sea life, and plants. Ubiquitous wildlife includes bottlenose dolphins, manatees and sea turtles, along with hundreds of bird species, such as bald eagles, ospreys, brown pelicans, white pelicans (in winter), roseate spoonbills, swallow-tailed kites, egrets, and all kinds of herons, terns and gulls.
Mangroves and sea grasses dominate the plant life along the trail and serve as a home and as food for many of the animals that inhabit the area. This is a rich environment that is essentially the nursery for many of the fish species in the Ten Thousand Islands.
Kayak fishers may be able to reel in sea trout, redfish, snook, tarpon, pompano, jack crevalle, mangrove snapper, and even grouper of various types.
In order to keep the paddling trail pristine and thriving for the paddlers who follow you, please take care during your excursion. Littering, rough paddling, and veering far off the marked trail are not allowed.
